Artcurial Prestigious Jewellery Auction : 21-22 july 2015

The Jewellery Insider was invited to a ladies’ lunch to preview the jewellery pieces that will be auctioned this July in Monaco.

In July Artcurial – the leading French auction house – will join its summer residence at the hotel Hermitage in Monte Carlo to hold a week of auctions for the 10th consecutive year. The prestigious jewellery auction will happen on the last two days, as the peak of this week devoted to luxury collectors’ items.

This wednesday, the Jewellery Insider was invited to a ladies’ lunch to preview the selection of nearly 550 lots that Artcurial’s jewellery department has assembled.

Marguerite de Cerval, Jewellery Historian

We were guided through the exhibition by Marguerite de Cerval, a Jewellery Historian, to discover some wonderful Art Deco pieces, rare items from the 1960s, and more contemporary pieces, all by the leading names in jewellery.

The heart-stopping piece from the sale though is definitely the one pictured on the invitation and the catalogue: a 1960 scarf emeralds and sapphires necklace from Marchak which is truly what dreams are made of.

So before the pieces are auctioned and scattered in private collections, run and visit the exhibition to take a closer look at these pieces, try some and maybe take a bid :
